We work as architects on kitchens that are actually built. So that you can picture these kitchens before the first front is fitted, we use a mix of real project photos, architectural visualisations and, occasionally, images edited with AI.
Because we take our transparency seriously, we want to explain briefly what you see here and what you do not.
Real project photos of our completed kitchens are not AI images. They show what actually stands in our clients' homes. We edit these photos, if at all, only subtly in brightness, colour or framing, as is customary in architectural photography. Where we do more with AI, the caption says so (see section 2.1).
In a few places we use the AI tool Google Gemini. This happens in three situations:
Sometimes we do not change a photo's content at all, but only improve the light, colour, image noise or reflections. What used to take an hour in Photoshop is a single click with Gemini. The image still shows the same room, the same materials, the same appliances, only cleaner.
Occasionally we also remove things that do not belong to the kitchen (packaging, cables, objects) or dirt from the day of the shoot. The kitchen itself, its materials, appliances, dimensions and condition stay unchanged. We do not retouch away defects. We label such photos in the caption as "AI-retouched".
Before a kitchen is built, there is no photo of it. For our advisory and explanatory content we therefore sometimes create fully AI-generated scenes that illustrate a concept, for example how a flush, made-to-measure kitchen compares with an industrial-module kitchen. These images show no particular client project, but an idea. They carry the note "AI-generated" in the caption, newer ones additionally directly in the image.
In a few cases we combine real ArchiCAD models from ongoing planning with AI rendering, to give you an early, realistic impression of your own planned kitchen. We currently use such images only in the personal consultation and identify them to you clearly as an AI visualisation.
Fully AI-generated images we label in the caption as "AI-generated"; newer images additionally carry the note directly in the image, as a small text mark in a corner. Real photos that we have retouched with AI we label in the caption as "AI-retouched". Where technically possible we also embed the origin in the image data. This is how we meet the requirements of the EU AI Act (Article 50) on labelling synthetic media.
AI image tools are impressive, but not perfect. Occasionally Gemini invents a detail that does not exist in reality: an extra drawer, an incorrectly drawn socket, a tap that does not exist in that form. We check every image we use, but small things can slip through.
If you notice something on an image that looks technically or structurally impossible, drop us a line via our contact form, and we will correct or replace the image.
We do not use AI to replace the hands of our cabinetmakers, to invent materials we cannot supply, or to visualise promises we would not keep. An architect-designed kitchen remains a piece of craftsmanship, and what you end up with in your home is genuine, without exception.
